Our Vision

K9 RotoTurf was founded with a vision to make dog ownership more accessible and enjoyable. One of the biggest challenges for pet owners is dealing with cleanup, which often deters people from welcoming a dog into their lives. We set out to eliminate this obstacle by providing an effortless solution—allowing people to enjoy the companionship of their dogs without the hassle of waste management.

How it Works

K9 RotoTurf works by using an artificial turf for dogs to eliminate on.  When the dog is done, the turf is rotated, depositing waste into a container and at the same time washing the turf.  Clean, dry turf is rotated to the top, ready to use again. 

Inside K9 RotoTurf

The unique, patented design of K9 RotoTurf allows dogs to eliminate on a familiar surface of the artificial turf.  When the dog is done, the system takes over and flushes the waste away. 

See how the in-ground prototype works

The artificial turf "belt" rotates depositing the waste material into a container underneath.  The turf is washed and the waste is flushed, and clean, dry turf is rotated to the top.  This was the original prototype, which was installed at ground level and hard-lined with water, electricity and sewage outflow. 

Touchscreen Controls

The automatic features of K9 RotoTurf include a touchscreen control panel.  The system will operate totally automatically when it is in "Automatic" mode.  The separate functions of the system can be operated independently with the touchscreen.  

Smartphone App

The K9 RotoTurf system can also be operated with a smartphone app.  It functions in the same was as the touchscreen control panel.  It connects to the system using WiFi.

The Problem 

People don't like cleaning up after their dogs.  Dog feces can carry disease-producing organisms.  The current methods of dog waste management are inefficient and unsanitary.  Multifamily dwellings spend time and money cleaning up after the pets in their buildings.  Trash bins are filled with plastic bags of dog waste.  Money is spent on odor control chemicals and employee time to repair/clean dog relief areas.  Many buildings have very small areas assigned as dog relief stations.
